After trading places, adding more light, and just general "try and see" we finally made some good progress. The past few sessions have been so frustrating!! Hopefully in a few more sessions we can complete the rest of the water and then begin the daunting task of finishing the border of the puzzle. We're so close to finishing the first quandrant! We're both quite ready to move on to the next quadrant.

We are now to a point where all the pieces are beginning to lose any kind of lines or different lighting that would help us place the pieces and are relying heavily on the different shades of color. Jen was nice enough to sort the pieces out by shape so they'd be easier to find. She also realized there's a pattern in the puzzle and that's helped us in placing pieces we otherwise would have had a lot of trouble putting together. We also condensed down from having puzzle pieces in both box lids and across 3 pieces of paper to all of that minus a box lid. Slowly, we're getting there! We must be placing pieces since the pile seems to be getting smaller, but the going is just very slow at this point. A few more sessions and the middle part of the puzzle should be done. From there, we still have the completely purple border to put on around the complete outside of the puzzle.

The task of completing the water has begun! We're both now working on the water together. During this session Jen and I found almost all the missing sky pieces so our focus is completely on the water. Jen was kind enough to sort all the pieces out and turn them all face up, which is why the top part of the puzzle can't be seen. Our progress will be slowed dramatically as a result of this. Doesn't help that for the last week both of us have been extremely busy and unable to puzzle much. Here was our progress:

Also for our readers, after much discussion and even a bit of annoying Jen, she decided against a punishment for me. :o( I apologize, but I did say she got to make the decision! She's so noble. I appreciate it!

A Side Note

It was brought to our attention this weekend that since I made Jen stand in the corner for falsely announcing she'd found all the edge pieces when indeed she had not, that I should have to stand in the corner for spilling a drink on the puzzle.
Because our readers are very important and help to encourage us, I wanted to open the opportunity to welcome ideas from our readers. What should I do to prove how sorry I am that I spilled a drink on this work of art? We'll let you decide :o)
Has to be something appropriate and within reason).
Jen will make the final decision.

This picture REALLY shows the progress we made. Saturday was our "Day Of Fun". We had massages scheduled at 9am in the morning, but long story short they got moved to noon. We took advantage of the beautiful and bright sunlight to work on the puzzle and the progress, as you can see, is absolutely amazing. Now things will slow down a bit as the next session we'll both be trying to figure out the water. So far, it's proved to be a very daunting task!
